WHO WE ARE
We are a local, independent charity supporting those affected by Autism and mental health issues. Providing training and work experience for people with mental health and learning disabilities. Our members develop better work and social skills by assisting us with the operation of our Community Café, Gardening projects, animal therapy as well as carpentry and Food Cupboard.
Our Log Cabin was set up in 2017 by Susan Gibbons, who saw the need for a meaningful setting. We are still as committed to people with mental and physical disability being an active part of their community, and developing their skills and confidence.
One Life was founded by Susan Gibbons in 2016; through her experience she identified the lack of support before and after a diagnosis of Autism had been received.
Premises were obtained in 2017 at the Log Cabin Hilltop

WHAT WE DO
Here at the Log Cabin, we help our volunteers to develop essential life skills, empowering them, building their confidence and improving their self-esteem.
Individual social skills are improved through frequent social interaction and our reliance on teamwork. Our volunteers learn what is expected of them in a working environment, and through this experience, can often gain voluntary or paid work in the local community.
We are dedicated to offering a person-centred approach, giving volunteers a varied choice of which of our projects they feel suits them best. We also emphasise the importance of individual happiness and enjoyment. We want all our Volunteers to feel content and self-fulfilled.
